Huntington Beach is known as a pet friendly place. The Dog Beach, located at the northern end, is one of the few California beaches where Fido can run free. A paradise for pups and animal lovers who enjoy the sun, sand and surf, this is one of the first places to have single-spaced parking meters that accept credit cards. Huntington City Beach also offers alternative accommodations to hotel stays. RV Camping is a popular and cost effective activity, with reservations being booked months ahead. Check out the Sunset Vista RV Park, operated by the city and open from October to the end of May. This is just about as close to staying at the beach as you can get! Click here for reservations.
Complete your California beach vacation by experiencing the rolling waves of the Pacific Ocean like a true local. Watch as surfers carve their way around the pier. Waves here are bigger and therefore better suited to experienced surfers and body boarders than any other stretch of water in town. Remember that surfing is not allowed on the south side of the pier during the summer months, a restriction aimed at surfer safety. The city beach is also an incredible place for swimmers. Waves break farther from the shoreline than other beaches, making the water close to the shore excellent for swimming. Even better, of all of the California beaches, Huntington City Beach is one of the easiest to get to. Almost every inch of sand is completely public and restricted only for environmental or safety reasons.
California consists of some of the most beautiful stretches of sand in the world, but there are few that have the special energy and refreshing vibe of Huntington City Beach. Surf, swim, and enjoy music and art on your next California beach vacation. Book your trip today.
