Surf the waves and the internet at Bolsa Chica State Beach, located across Pacific Coast Highway from the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. AT&T Wi-Fi service allows visitors with laptop computers or personal digital assistants to browse the internet. Accessibility is available only to members of the AT&T Wi-Fi service who are within a 150 foot range of the Visitor Center/Beach Headquarters building. Fortunately, the ocean requires no membership. Surfing is allowed the entire day, no black ball all year long, except south of the main tower during summer. Bolsa Chica is also well-known for its grunion runs during the summer months. Grunions spawn only on California beaches, require a permit to catch and may only be captured by hand. Additionally, this beach is an excellent place for surf fishing. Perch, corbina, croaker, cabezon and sand shark are commonly caught here.

Directions
Bolsa Chica State Beach is open to foot traffic at Warner Avenue, and only accessible by car through one entry point at the stoplight one mile south of Warner Avenue across from Bolsa Chica's Ecological Reserve entrance.
